The amount of work Good Counsel does would not be possible without our team of interns from around the world, with each intern bringing new experiences and skills to the team. Welcome the second part of our weekly series, where we introduce our summer interns, one intern at a time.
When Rochelle was looking for a summer opportunity, she knew she wanted to work in an organization that empowered their interns. She wanted to leave the summer having had a tangible impact on the people and group she worked with. After extensive google searching, Rochelle discovered Good Counsel. From her very first meeting with Elizabeth, the founder and executive director, Rochelle knew that Good Counsel would be a place where she could do real work.
Now, Rochelle is the Chief of Staff with Good Counsel services and also works in financial resource development. She is currently a junior studying economics at Cornell University, and hopes to use her analytical skills in her financial resource development work. As Chief of Staff, Rochelle manages the nearly dozen interns by checking in on their progress, giving feedback, and assigning new work. She also interviews incoming interns, helps them with visas, and helps train them when they arrive.
In her outside facing role, Rochelle is in the process of recording sexual harassment prevention training that meets New York State and City regulations for Good Counsel clients. She has also represented Good Counsel at major events, and serves as the point of contact with the coworking space the team works out of, the Centre for Social Innovation.
Like Rochelle, we have interns joining Good Counsel because they want to make an impact. We have a diverse, young, group and want to push even farther. Good Counsel doesn’t want socioeconomic needs to stop anyone from working with us and we want to grow our internship program to reach even more students.
